Heya everyone, Kenni here to talk to you about something great that's happened for Marriland. Recently, our moderation crew was approached by Eternal, one of the head staff of the Team Uber forums and of the Pokemon Online forums about joining up to create a large Pokemon Online server. For those of you that don't know about it, Pokemon Online is the premier battle simulator for gen V. It has several popular servers, and now Marriland has its own server as well.
All you need to do to participate in the server is download the client then open it up and hit "go online" then go down the server list looking for "The Pokemon Society" click on the server and you're connected.
This server is a place for members of Marriland and the other partner sites to find battles, participate in tournaments, and chat amongst each other. So if you want to play some Gen V battles, get some advice about the game, show off your skills in a tourney or just hang out and talk in real time with members of Marriland and the other Pokemon Society partner sites, then this server is for you!
More than likely we'll get new members coming to Marriland from the server. Beyond that, what does having this server do to negatively impact Marr's activity? Anything Marr members do on there they would've just done on a different server. This way we get more visibility for the forum and our members have places they can find eachother -- very helpful when hosting tourneys.
This is a nice implementation. Hosting site tournaments will be much easier with an official server for Marriland. Even though I no longer battle competitively (as of Generation 5); I'll give it a try sometime soon. ^^
