Look at Chespin's SECOND move. I'm not saying you're wrong, but that move looks like a dark move, which means it must be a grass dark type. Again, not saying you're wrong.

Maybe different regions..? Y can go to Hoenn and Sinnoh, while X can go to Johto and Kanto, and both can go to Unova.

That's what I do but for some reason I'm made of fire because that's what type I get. Fenniken might be Fire Psychic, Chespin might be Grass Dark, and Froakie might be Water Fighting
