HELP WHO IS EVERYONE
HELP WHO IS EVERYONE
started from the bottom now we here
So I've decided to jump into competitive battling, and have thrown a team together.
Feedback would be much appreciated.
Pinsir-Mega @ Pinsirite
Ability: Moxie -> Aerilate
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SpA)
252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
- Quick Attack
- Swords Dance
Pinsir is pretty much the star of this team. Mega evolving provides him with an incredible 155 base attack, as well as 105 speed and respectable defences. His Aerilate ability not only makes his normal type moves (Return, Quick Attack) Flying type, which in itself gives a STAB boost, but also boosts the power by 30%. This makes Pinsir very, very powerful, dealing a lot of damage to pretty much anything that doesn't resist it, and after a Swords Dance, even resisted hits will hurt. Return is Pinsir's main attack on this set, which hits incredibly hard, and due to the type change, can hit ghosts too. Quick Attack is there for priority, and after the boosts still hits fairly hard. Swords Dance is to boost even further, and Pinsir will OHKO almost everything that doesn't resist it after a single Swords Dance. Earthquake is there for coverage and allows Pinsir to hit Steel types. The EV spread and Nature are fairly simple: maximise Pinsir's attack and speed, with a speed boosting nature to allow Pinsir to outspeed things since his Attack is already through the roof.
Blastoise @ Leftovers
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
- Rapid Spin
There are a few pokemon on my team, including Mega Pinsir, that really need Rapid Spin support, as Stealth Rock can be crippling, so that is the role that Blastoise will play. He's both physically and specially bulky, allowing him to withstand hits, and spin away any hazards with Rapid Spin or force out any opponents who want to set up with Roar. Scald is there to deal some damage and the chance to burn could potentially cripple physical attackers. Toxic is there for more bulky opponents such as walls, who Blastoise can slowly break down with poison. Because Blastoise is a very defensive Pokemon, the EVs are very defensive too. 252 HP and Defence along with a small investment in Special Defence allows Blastoise to tank hits and do what he needs to do. Leftovers gives Blastoise more longevity, as he may be needed multiple times throughout a battle.
Talonflame @ Leftovers
Ability: Gale Wings
Jolly Nature (+Spd, - SpA)
252 Atk / 176 Spd / 80 HP
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- Swords Dance
Talonflame is very deadly, especially with its Gale Wings ability which gives it access to priority 120 base power Brave Bird, and priority Roost healing. His purpose is to come in and deal huge damage on almost everything that doesn't resist it with the combination of Brave Bird and Flare Blitz. Roost is there to allow Talonflame to heal off any damage, especially the recoil from it's two attacking moves, and Swords Dance allows Talonflame to switch in on something like Ferrothorn or Scizor, force them out, and Swords Dance on the switch. Leftovers increases Talonflame's longevity and the EV spread/Nature gives Talonflame the ability to outspeed the things it needs to outspeed, as well increasing it's Attack, with some HP investment for extra bulk.
Jolteon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Volt Absorb
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
252 SpA / 252 Spd / 4 Def
- Volt Switch
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fire]
Jolteon is an awesome revenge killer due to it's very respectable 110 base Special Attack and it's great 130 base Speed. It's ability allows it to switch in on a predicted electric attack and wreak havoc from there. Volt Switch is a great move that allows Jolteon to switch out quickly while dealing very nice damage, and maybe force out an opponent which allows me to bring in the best Pokemon for the job. Thunderbolt is pretty simple, great STAB attack that will hit hard with Choice Specs. Shadow Ball is a coverage move which can take out things such as Alakazam and Gengar, who are outsped by Jolteon. Hidden Power Fire is to hit things like annoying Steel types, especially Scizor and Ferrothorn. The EVs and Nature are simple. Max out Jolteon's speed and special attack to deal as much damage as possible.
Florges @ Leftovers
Ability: Flower Veil
Calm Nature (+SpDef, -Atk)
252 SpDef / 252 HP / 4 SpA
Florges acts as a very defensive support Pokemon, capable of taking special attacks like a champ and being able to pass wishes and heal status. With 154 base Special Defense, Florges will easily take any manner of special attack, and can respond with a Moonblast coming off 112 base Special Attack. Alternatively, Florges has both Wish and Protect, a very effective combo, allowing Florges to heal herself. The EV and Nature max out Florges special Defense making her a formidable special wall.
Scizor @ Choice Band
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)
252 Atk / 248 HP / 8 SpDef
- Bullet Punch
- Brick Break
Scizor is a very powerful physical attacker, who's STAB boosted, Technician boosted, Choice Band boosted priority Bullet Punch will deal huge damage to anything that doesn't resist it. It can act as a very effective physical revenge killer or switch in on something resisted and start firing off the appropriate attack. U-Turn does a very good deal of damage and allows Scizor to get out, much like Jolteon's Volt Switch. Brick Break is to hit things such as Steels for super effective damage and can also shatter Reflect/Light Screens. Pursuit is useful for bringing Scizor in on something that will most likely switch out, allowing Scizor to cripple or outright kill it. The EV spread and Nature maximises Scizor's attack while investing in HP and SpDef allows Scizor to take more hits due to his pretty mediocre Speed stat.
Your rates and feedback would be much appreciated!
