Could you provide a screenshot of this? There's supposed to be two ads at the bottom of the page. Ads also should load after the majority of the page does, so that's why they don't load right away.

Thanks for the confirmation, everyone. It can be really tricky, because so often people wind up getting malware that affects ads, so it's important to see if it is indeed widespread. I'll get this reported right away and it will be taken care of. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Oh, hmm, that is rather peculiar then... that shouldn't be happening. I'm 99.9% sure that ad is not coming from our network, because that's a huge problem.

If anyone else is receiving that ad specifically, please let me know in the comments.

Oh wow, that's very peculiar. I'm able to replicate this and it is definitely not supposed to work that way. I do notice that if you click outside of the input and then input the number again, it allows you to input whatever number you'd like, so it must be somewhere in the JavaScript processing that's causing it.

I'll mark this as pending so the developers can look at it when they get a chance. Thanks for pointing it out!

Something like this happened to me too. I was browsing le forums, and all of a sudden this website that it said was called "****icle" popped up in the tab! I kept hitting back til I got to regular marilland forums, and all was well since then. *shudder*

This sounds more like it's malware of some sort on your computer. Often times malware installs stuff that redirects you to less than savory sites or replaces ads with said less than savory ads. I would definitely recommend running some sort of anti-virus and anti-malware to be sure you're ok.

Every time I try logging into marriland forums, I keep getting "You do not have permission to perform this action," and I've been getting it every single day. What action? I don't know what they're talking about. I wasn't trying to perform an action. I was just trying to sign in.

This has nothing to do with the topic and it is a separate problem entirely. Please do not go off-topic. As for your problem, it sounds more like it is a problem storing your cookies, although you should still be able to log in just fine. Just ignore the message. That's the easiest solution.

  • posted a message on Discussing about siblings

No, there's no reason to have a topic solely about your siblings. This is a public forum, open for anyone to talk to, so having a topic solely about your own siblings, even if it is just for them to chat, is not in the spirit of the forums and would serve very little purpose. I'm sure you have other methods of talking amongst each other outside of a topic, like in person or over Facebook or something, so there's really no need to have a topic here just for that reason.

In regards to mentioning your siblings in a post (not a topic/thread), sure, whatever, but don't keep bringing them up if it is off-topic, or it will be worthy of an off-topic warning because it doesn't contribute to the discussion at all.

There's nothing further that needs to be added to this topic, so it is now locked.

If there are indeed popups being generated, this is a serious issue as these should not be a part of our ad networks. If you're able to get the URL from the blocked ad (sometimes these are stored somewhere and can be copy+pasted), send the URLs to me via PM so I can report them. Pop ups are not something we have any tolerance for around here. Sorry for the inconvenience.

It won't be up until we have the data for the Pokemon available, but I will be working on an X & Y section that will have a mini Pokedex that shows all known moves, all released art and screenshots, etc. of a Pokemon. This will be updated as new Pokemon are revealed, too.

It is a mystery. ;) Let's say it keeps going past 50,000, though, and we've had a few members closing in on that point.

There's a chance this may also be stemming from a problem we had back in January or February where one of our ad networks was compromised (it affected tons of other sites, not just ours). We resolved the issue within a couple of hours, but Google at the time marked us as containing malware due to those ads. Not very cool at all. It took a day or two for them to lift that. If McAfee Site Blocker is detecting there's a problem, that might be part of the cause.

But if it doesn't show up immediately, it's sounding like it might be an issue with ads.

@samsung09: Are you using McAfee Site Blocker as well, or are you getting some other warning message? Please elaborate.
