Two more people had entered the town, maybe they were also looking for the reason to all this. Whatever it was, Devon was going to get to the bottom of this. He got up from the bench and decided to look around some more. The sky was starting to clear up and it became easier to see things, he could see that the ducklett had belonged to a boy who was entering the town and running towards Radiah, most likely to apologize. Further away from the town he saw a girl and a purple floating pokemon, there was no time to investigate into that though. Devon looked around for half an hour and came up empty handed. Though the doors were locked he could tell somebody was inside the houses, and the best way to find something out is through a witness. Devon approached the door to one of the houses and knocked, first quietly the getting louder. After a while a woman came to the door and opened up a slit at her eye level. After seeing that it was nobody dangerous she let him in. She was almost his hight, and wore a pink winter coat.Posted in: Pokémon Roleplaying
"What are you her for?" the woman asked somewhat rudely.
"No specific reason," replied Devon, "Just happened to stumble across it."
"Makes sense, nobody would willingly come here in the state it's in." said the woman.
"What exactly happened here?" asked Devon.
"Well it all started a little while ago," said the woman matter-of-factly, "Strange things started happening, wind where it has no business being, things being nocked over and lifted up by invisible things, so now we all barricade ourselves in here, in fact, I've actually lost my sense of time due to power outages."
Devon was surprised to hear that things had actually happened, he felt he knew all he needed to, he left the house and said his goodbyes to the woman. He made his way back to the bench where the boy with the ducklett was sitting next to Radiah, sometimes you loose your seat for a higher purpose.

True, I guess your right, no point arguing that. Also, I tend to find that the Rp's that last the longest are the simple ones, but the best ones are the intricate and detailed. It just doesn't sit right with me.Posted in: The Campfire

I know that, but it was good, and the creator obviously put a lot of work and skill into developing a story only to have it locked because he didn't have a license.Posted in: The Campfire

I agree, people who join and in thirty minutes crank out an Rp with no backstory or location and just say "the title says it all" But when somebody spends the better half of an afternoon writing out a long complicated thing about the new region and makes a good story and trainer cards for all of the elite four and gym leaders, it just isn't right when it's locked.Posted in: The Campfire

Nah, on other sites tho. Stumbled cross this pretty recently. Overall I find that the best RP's are made in this section, and the ones in the beginner section usually aren't that great. It just seems a little unfair for newbies. On other words, I don't really get the license system. I used to have an account on here early 2010, forgot the password since i didn't visit for a while, but l liked when newbs were able to make pokemon roleplays. It pproduced some good ideas, and just because somebody is new to the forums, doesn't make them new to Rp'ing.Posted in: The Campfire

I think that yes, the best writers go towards those boards, but I think that it intimidates beginners and people without much skill. I find them more fun to be part of, but it always attracts veterans and no new people. Me I always start with smaller size posts if i have beginners in roleplays to make them feel comfortable, then wean them off of it by lengthening my posts and then they follow. I accept any license level in my rp's, simply because i like looking at a quality roleplayer and saying, "They started with my rp."Posted in: The Campfire

What should i do if i made a roleplay and one of the players and I post quality long posts, while the other two post relatively sub par, and sometimes shorter than five sentences. I don't wat to boot them or be a bad guy, but I feel like they hurt the Rp. Also, I've seen this before, people who bite off more than they can chew and join a roleplay with high standards. From my little experience, I've gathered that certain roleplays expect a heck of a lot more of their players than others do. I've seen ones where everybody posts short, sweet 8-10 line posts. And then those where each person posts a page of writing. While the ones with pages are better quality, I tend to find them slightly boring a drawn out, what do you guys think?Posted in: The Campfire

Devon couldn't believe how amazing Agatha was, she definaitely wasn't the same girl that he met back in Nuvema town, only a few days and she had already blossomed into a wonderful coordinator. Her pokemon were amazing too, he had never seen Howlite in action before, and he didn't expect it to bee that amazing. Everybody was clapping, she was definitely the best there. Cheri turned to him, as she did after every coordinator preformed, "She was great! What do you think?", Devon turned back to her, "She was great, She's my friend too!" Devon replied. "Really, she's really pretty don't you think!" Devon knew her type, the knd who loved to force people into awkward situations. "Yeah, I know. But we're just friends." Devon said, trying to hide his resentment of the previous exchange. "Really, you like her, don't you!" Cheri said cheerily. "Like I said, we're just friends!" Devon looked back on to the stage only to see the boy he had beaten up two days ago, Jake, Jack, something like that. "Let's welcome to the stage! Jack!" said the M.C. "Oh, he thought to himself Jack." Devon only really came to see Agatha, so he gathered up his stuff, and Foxy and walked off of the bleachers and back to the entrance hall. What he really wanted to do now was congratulate Agatha. He realized that she was probably still in the participants only area. He sat down on a bench and watched the coordinators walk by with their pokemon. From delicatties to pinsirs, there were pokemon from all castes of life who came today. He wondered about contests, how they compared to battles. He definitely thought battles were cooler, but he never really gave contests a chance, maybe he would enter one on the next town that had one. He had waited long enough, he walked towards the participants area to talk to Agatha. When he walked up to the door there was a bouncer there. The bouncer was big, and had a hitmonchan, he really didn't want to contest his authority, but maybe he could smooth talk his way in. "Hey," Devon said to the bouncer, "I got a friend in there i need to talk to." "Go right ahead," said the bouncer, "I'm just here to make sure nobody suspicious walks in." Devon strolled in wondering who could possibly look more suspicious than a teenage boy with a trenchcoat. He saw Agatha sitting in a swivel chair talking to her pokemon. He walked over an tried to surprise her, but Foxy ruined all chances of that happening. Foxy ran strait to her and started jumping up at her playfully alerting her to his presence. Devon walked over anyway to say how good of a job he did. She really looked good in her purple dress, beautiful actually. He tried not to sound nervous, "You did great!" Devon said loudly, God he was horrible with words. he wals always smart, but never one for talking to girls. If only that could change for a second.Posted in: Pokémon Roleplaying
