I can play OU, UU, or RU, no preference really. I'll probably be best off OUing though

Ugh, got voting reqs for the Kyu-B test a week ago or so and I'm really kind of disappointed in how the round went. It was basically just cookie-cutter rain and deo-d HO (which, of course, are the two most effective ladder teams at the moment), but still, it was really unfun to play against enough to get a deviation of under 55 on the ladder. Anyways, i'm still really conflicted on how to vote on Kyurem-B, but BW2 in general is going to need a fair amount of work before we get to a stable meta.Posted in: Competitive Battling (5th Gen)

Adv OU, DPP UU, DPP OU, and then every other non bw tier. Then bw.Posted in: Competitive Battling (5th Gen)
In that order. With Adv OU as best.

Hey Messuduppotatoasia (**** yeah, i spelled it right). You've got a really solid team in the works here, of one of the best offensive teams that I've seen made for 5th gen. The team is able to both apply pressure well, and maintain a solid defensive backbone without too much trouble, so props for that. Honestly, I think that there are only a few things that I would change.Posted in: Competitive Rate-My-Team (5th Gen)
The first issue is Donphan, who, in my opinion, slows down the team too much. You've got excellent momentum builders with Luke + Mence + Scizor, and Donphan kinda just kills it all. Being outsped by Jellicent also isn't great, as it allows physically defensive versions, which badly mess with your team, to come in for free and burn it then recover. You don't particularly handle stall well in general, since you can't break Chansey with Mence and have to rely heavily on Luke + Scizor to handle strong physical walls (because Scarf Terrak really isn't doing **** vs stall unless you can lure in Gliscor with Luke beforehand). The second issue, as Anthrix pointed out, is that you also have some problems with handling bulky waters well (although srsly scald is a dumb move).
In order to solve these slight issues, I would drop Donphan for either Specially Defensive Forretress, with VoltSwitch/RapidSpin/StealthRock/GyroBall, which helps with your Tornadus and Gengar issues while also allowing you to not lose momentum in order to lay hazards, or some variation on Tinkerbell Celebi with something like U-turn/GigaDrain/Psychic/StealthRock, which makes you slightly more vulnerable to Tornadus and Gengar, but allows you to lure them both in then U-turn out to Scizor, while also completely handling any problems the team has with bulky waters.
Overall excellent team!
edit: lolwoops, didn't realize that I was necroing this, sorrrrrrry~

On Golduck... yup I disagree... trying to belittle me is very unbecomming thats all I am saying. In Gen 3 Sunny Day and Rain Dance existed as moves... therefore you could send in Cloud Nine Golduck to counter. Just because nothing was made out to be UBER like Blaiziken today doesnt mean people didnt try.
Oh wait only T-Tar had auto weather? I vaguely recall pokemon named Groudon and Kyogre in Gen 3... what were their abilities again? Hmmmm... granted Rayquaza was the go to counter... I'm going to take the high road here and assume you werent including Legendaries.
I'm honestly not trying to "belittle" you or anything. I just feel like you've somewhat skated off track which was why I mentioned that I didn't really know what you were trying to do with the argument.
On the Golduck thing, Cloud Nine Golduck was bad in Adv. Downright terrible. Sun and Rain Offense were pretty much nonexistent as threats, and Cloud Nine Golduck had no merit outside from checking some of the Chlorophyll and Swift Swim sweepers, and thus had no reason to be on any good Adv team. I didn't include Groudon and Kyogre not because of their status as "legendaries (which plays zero role in competitive mons...) but rather because they're ubers. And yes, people did occasionally try and use Sun and Rain offense. But good Adv players figured out pretty quickly that they just weren't all that effective, so gimmicks like Golduck that may have had some slight use ended up being nonexistent. If you really don't believe me you can try and dredge up some old Netbattle usage stats for Adv.
Oh and about you being a council member... it could be true... it could be a lie. I have no way of knowing it here. Although I have yet to meet a moderator / administrator that belittled a fellow forumgoer. Thats a new one on me thanks. This is in regards to the last sentence to your first retort.
Again you belittle me... borderline insult and AmnesiaLax DID run Surf. Toxic was used on Lax in order to force the other player to use up their Rests as quickly as possible in RBY. Strategy... sacrifice a few Toxic to put a stop to Snorlax's healing. Double check on even Smoogon what the common movesets were in RBY on Snorlax. The fact that I happen to like DT comes from dealing with the abuse in RBY meta.
No, AmnesiaLax ran IceBeam/TBolt/Amnesia/Rest with Body Slam occasionally being used in place of Thunderbolt. Surf was used on non-Amnesia Lax, since they didn't get walled by Exeggutor. Toxic in RBY reverted to regular poison after the user was switched out, and in reality would have helped Snorlax more than hindered it, since it could seek out Poison to be immune to Freeze/Paralysis, both of which could cripple it.
Being a council member you have no opinion on Status Problem / Enfatuation / Confusion existing on one pokemon at once?
But seriously, I completely apologize if I came across as a jerk in my last post; I had no intention of "belittling" you I simply felt it noteworthy to let you know that you have some misconceptions about the metagames of previous generations and the suspect process as a whole.

Posted in: Competitive Battling (5th Gen)Quote from Blastoise »I miss having to switch in my Crobat and using Haze against people OUing DTSDNinjaskPass. Haze is a move that represent defensive strategy. This is back in Gen 3. In addition the Golducks I was talking about were Gen 3... when I say a while ago... I mean a WHILE AGO.
There was literally no reason whatsoever to run Cloud Nine Golduck prior to Gen V, but it got basically zero usage during the Adv era, since it was, for all purposes, completely useless. The only auto weather inducer was Tyranitar, and teams weren't based around weather conditions at all (offensive sun/rain was terrible in Adv since nothing really had enough power without Life Orb existing, and Sand did nothing but cause damage). So yeah, uh, not really sure what Adv meta you played in lol, but it certainly wasn't a competitive one.Not once did I say "It was being voted upon." Yes me and a few of my forum friends that have earned a reputation for being helpful and respectfull on Smoogon asked the mods to please put an end to a hysterical post which featured griefing against Acid Spash, Quiver Dance, Ancientpower... etc. Its a dead thread now.
If this is the case then why did you even bring it up, and call it a discussion even lol. There are posts like that all the time, and they're clearly barely worth the few seconds it takes to read them and deem them not particularly worthwhile. You're far better off reading policy review or council discussions (and as a suspect voter and council member myself, I can truthfully say that when serious suspects are being discussed, the councils do know what they're doing). But regardless, why do you bring something like that acid splash/quiver dance thread up if it's clearly irrelevant...Now keep one thing in mind... I came from a generation where there were only two ways to stop an AmnesiaSurflax was to harrass it until it ran out of Rests... that meant using Toxic... or DTHitmonlee with HiJumpKick. Even Mewtwo freshly switched in couldnt survive a Surf from the Surflax with full Amnesia stacks. So my mindset MAY have some bias.
Errr, AmenesiaLax didn't run Surf. And Tauros beat it, Golem/Rhydon could switch in on a Rest and beat it, Wrap/Fire Spin users beat it, and Cloyster walled all sets without Thunderbolt. I won't pretend to know RBY very well, but you don't seem to understand the meta or game mechanics of RBY particularly well either, especially if you're even bringing up Toxic... (I recommend looking up RBY Toxic mechanics, by the way, just for the sake of clarification on your part).
Not really sure if you're trying to make a point right now though lol.
