Posted 12/7/2012 8:54:08 AMWell, arguably the "sweeper" among all the fire-types available in game.
I do recommend Blaziken over most of the fire-types available. But just in case you pick another starter Pokemon, there are others available - Magcargo, Camerupt, Torkoal, and Ninetales, and Houndoom (Weaker defensively, but faster than Blaziken. Available only after the Elite Four) - though I'd still choose Blaziken.
It has more weaknesses than the others though, but it has a bit of diversity in its movepool that allows it to counter those :)
I usually have a moveset that's something like (for Emerald):
Flamethrower
Thunderpunch
Double Kick/Sky Uppercut/Brick Break/Focus Punch
*Another move*
So yeah. Definitely love Blaziken :D

Posted 3/30/2013 8:54:01 PMYour moveset does not quite work in generation 5 context where either "walling", "brute force", or "intense" pacing is the common tactic for the metagame. Blaziken's moveset should be
Your Thunderpunch is also good for coverage but Stone Edge works better because of higher critical hit ratio and allows for neutral damage. A Blaziken centered team should have a wall like Ferrothorn, Jellicent to exploit the rain, and Magnezone to cripple defensive flying types like Skymory.

Posted 1/15/2013 7:33:58 AMSpeed boost blaziken is Amoveset another moveset set for it is-
hi jump kick/sky uppercut/brick break(hi jump kick almost 1HK0 if it hits)
Thunder punch
Flare blitz/fire punch(relearn it and if u dont want to risk)
Bravebird/EQ/shadow claw/night slash(shadow claw is to kill psychic or night slash if u can get its egg move.
and adamant nature is recommended plus speed boost but sadly now it's unavailable except for Japan had an event for it but its male-only.

Posted 3/30/2013 8:49:09 PMSigh time for me to ring up my Japanese friends to let me borrow theirs so I can actually breed it with a ditto then getting myself a speed boost torchic. The upside is that after 6 turns (who knows you may get lucky) that chicken can outspeed Raquaza or Salemence. Protect has 16 pp max and assuming you use all 16 PP then Blaziken gets +16 boost unless ability related stat changes are capped at 6.

Posted 3/31/2013 12:23:09 AMI actually checked on both Serebii and Bulbpedia's breeding section and the words "if the male Pokémon has the Dream World ability and the female doesn't, and if you breed the female with a Ditto" it will not have its Hidden Ability illustrates that breeding the male with the Ditto means Torchic will have its DW Ability. Thus Ditto plays the part of either the female or male.

Posted 4/23/2013 2:36:55 PMAhhh Blaziken, my favourite Pokémon ever and that will never change!! :D
Torchic was my first starter which later evolved into a Blaziken and we both share lots of memories travelling through the Hoenn region together. I definitely recommend this Pokémon and if you manage to get your hands on a Blaziken with it's hidden ability, I definately recommend you using it. ;)
