Marriland's thoughts on the "Awakened" Mewtwo and Sylveon in Pokémon X & Y!

Yesterday's announcement showing off Mewtwo transforming into its new "Awakened" form definitely roused some discussion amongst fans, speculating as to what it could mean. Additionally, the official Japanese Pokémon YouTube channel released a trailer for the upcoming Genesect and Mewtwo movie shortly thereafter. The above video shows my impressions of these new developments, where I talk about the new Mewtwo form as well as new scenes of the eighth Eevee evolution, Sylveon, from the Japanese trailer.

New Japanese trailers for upcoming Genesect & Mewtwo movie!

Two new video trailers have been uploaded to the official Japanese Pokémon YouTube channel showing scenes from the upcoming movie, translated as Godspeed/Extremespeed Genesect and the Reawakening of Mewtwo. The first, shown above, shows one of the Genesect from the movie attacking Ash in a city, with Mewtwo flying in to save him.

The second video is a longer video, showing several Genesect in a dark lab with a mysterious voice speaking, then showing extended scenes from the first video. It also shows a little more of the special video that will be aired beforehand, Pikachu & Eevee Friends, which features Pikachu, Meowth, Eevee, and all of Eevee's evolutions, including the newly revealed Sylveon. It doesn't reveal too much more about Sylveon, though, but you do at least get to see it in anime form.

Godspeed/Extremespeed Genesect and the Reawakening of Mewtwo and Pikachu & Eevee Friends will be released in theaters in Japan on July 13th, 2013. No word yet when this will be released outside of Japan, though.

(NOTE: 神速 literally translates to "Godspeed," and there is an attack by the same name in Japanese; this attack name was changed to "Extremespeed" in the English versions, although it does not convey the same meaning. That is why both translations are included.)

Sylveon

Sylveon is the newest evolution of Eevee in Pokémon X & Y. This brings the number of known "Eeveelutions" to eight.

It was first shown in a leak of CoroCoro on February 12th, then was subsequently revealed in English on February 14th shortly after it was unveiled on Pokémon Smash.

Its type was initially kept a mystery and, on June 11th, its type has been revealed to be the new Fairy-type.

Sylveon is also set to star in the short feature film, Pikachu & Eevee Friends, alongside Eevee and its other evolutions.

The next "Eeveelution," Sylveon, revealed internationally!

Pokemon.com has updated earlier this morning with a big update: they have officially unveiled the newest evolution of Eevee, Sylveon! This new Pokémon was recently revealed in the Japanese CoroCoro magazine by its Japanese name, Ninfia, although we now can see its names in all of the major languages. Additionally, the update contains screenshots of Sylveon in battle, as well as a video showcasing its moves!

While its height and weight have been confirmed as 3' 3" and 51.8 lbs. respectively, its type and how you obtain it are still shrouded in mystery.

Additionally, today's European Nintendo Direct broadcast has confirmed the release date of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity for Europe: May 17th! Still no word yet on the Australian release date, though.
